“The role of a county prosecutor is to be ministers of justice and the voice for victims, which means we must work closely with law enforcement to pursue convictions of people who commit crimes. As a former captain in the Elyria Police Department and now as the Prosecutor, I know it takes both sides working together to keep us all safe.”
— Lorain County Prosecutor Dennis Will
The Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office is responsible for working with law enforcement to prosecute offenders within the county at the court of common pleas, court of appeals or in probate court. Each case is carefully reviewed and investigated by a team of skilled prosecutors before proceeding with a thoroughly prepared case.
The County Prosecutor is also the legal advisor for public entities including the county officers, public libraries, townships, and other boards and commissions.
